Tooth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments available. Treatment can take as little as three weeks, meaning it’s perfect before a special occasion, perhaps a wedding, a big family gathering, or an important business presentation or just to brighten you smile to fill you with renewed confidence and make you feel good in yourself.
The single most important thing to remember if you’re looking to whiten your teeth is to only do so with the help of a qualified dentist. A recent investigation by the BBC has found that, despite teeth whitening now being illegal unless provided by a registered dentist, the practice is still continuing and is still widespread.
This is certainly a safety concern, and one of the reasons for the law being passed initially was the lack of skills, training and knowledge of many of those offering this treatment in high street outlets. In many cases, the strength of the solution used to whiten the teeth was not sufficiently diluted, causing some very nasty burns to the lips and gums.
At Hello Dental we use Enlighten whitening system, which is tried, tested and safe. You’ll need to make three visits to the practice in total, and treatment takes between two and four weeks.
First, you’ll see the dentist to take an impression of your teeth, so we can create bespoke tooth-whitening trays to fit your teeth perfectly.
At your second appointment, when the trays are ready, we’ll show you how to use them and the whitening gel that comes with them. You take the gel and trays home and wear them overnight for 14 consecutive nights.
During this time, you will need to use their amazing toothpaste called Tooth Serum twice a day instead of your regular toothpaste.
This is no ordinary toothpaste. It contains a material called Hydroxyapatiet (HAP) which is what your Enamel is made of. This HAP will not only improve the whitening effect but it will also protect your teeth and reduce and sensitivity.
Finally, you will come back to Hello Dental for your one hour in surgery treatment, which will boost the colour and help it to last longer.

I have been going to hello dental for a few years now and I must say you get what you pay for, the service is exemplary and all the staff are so polite and friendly.
