Fixed Braces

Fixed braces also known as traditional braces at Hello Dental are fitted over two appointments at our Colchester practice. Fixed braces consist of a small bracket which can be made from metal or white ceramic and are cemented to each tooth, with a wire running through the brackets to join them together. Throughout your treatment we adjust your fixed brace, moving the teeth into position to create a beautiful straight smile.

Unlike many other short-term orthodontic systems, fixed braces often take less time to achieve teeth straightening without compromising on the outcome.

Invisible Braces

Invisible braces have revolutionised teeth straightening at Hello Dental Colchester. Unlike fixed braces, invisible braces straighten your teeth without anyone knowing you are even wearing them!

Custom-made aligners are fitted and must be worn for around 22 hours a day, they will move your teeth into a more desirable position. We provide you with a series of aligners and check your progress regularly at Hello Dental Colchester.

FastBraces® System

For adults with complex orthodontic needs, fixed braces are sometimes the only option. However, many patients feel they cannot commit to wearing braces for several years.

We address this with the FastBraces system, which offers an accelerated treatment schedule. By moving teeth rapidly under the guidance of our orthodontist, progress can be seen in just a few weeks. While the total length of treatment depends on your personal situation, it is significantly faster than traditional orthodontics.

Smilelign Invisible Braces

Smilelign is a very different solution. While the treatment cycle is longer than the FastBraces system, it is much more subtle. Despite being referred to as an “invisible brace,” Smilelign is technically a clear aligner—similar to a gum shield, but close-fitting and translucent.

• Discreet: They often go unnoticed and usually only affect speech patterns during the first few weeks of wear.

• Removable: They can be removed at a moment’s notice, though to be effective, you must wear them day and night (removing them only to eat).

• Non-Invasive: Fitting is performed in our clinic using an intra-oral scanner.
