If you feel like you would benefit from teeth straightening treatments, you are in luck. Thanks to today’s modern dental techniques and technology, you have more options than ever before.
Straighter teeth are healthier teeth. When your teeth are straight, they are easier to floss and brush properly. This ease of cleaning will reduce the chances of common problems like tooth decay and gum disease, both leading causes of tooth loss in adults.
The root of these problems are the bacteria that build up on our teeth naturally. These bacteria feed on the sugars in our foods and secrete acids that are damaging to our teeth and gums.
Having straighter teeth gives the bacteria fewer places to hide.
Here at Hello Dental in Colchester, braces come in a few different forms to fit our different patients’ needs. The first type of teeth straightening treatment is ClearCorrect.
ClearCorrect doesn’t share much in common with traditional braces in terms of the way that it works. Instead of traditional wires and brackets that move teeth over time, ClearCorrect uses a series of custom-moulded plastic tooth trays that are slightly different in shape from one to the next.
A big advantage of this treatment is that when the aligner is in your mouth, it’s hardly visible. Most people won’t even be able to tell you’re undergoing treatment.
Another advantage this treatment has over traditional braces is that it’s completely removable. This removability also makes keeping your teeth clean much easier.
The smooth plastic brings comfort levels much higher than with a fixed metal brace. We have probably all heard the stories of braces scratching and damaging the inside of the user’s mouth. This isn’t the case with ClearCorrect.
Fastbraces offer an alternative to traditional fixed braces. Fastbraces are an evolution of the mechanics of traditional braces, and can straighten a patient’s teeth much more quickly.
This is because of a change in design that allows teeth to move much more efficiently.
These braces can also be made from tooth-coloured and clear materials making them much less conspicuous.
